We have implemented several key initiatives involving GCP in a leading telecom provider, particularly in the realm of data security. These efforts aim to protect sensitive data stored in Google BigQuery and align with stringent data governance policies.
BigQuery Data Protection with Microfocus:
Implementation: A framework utilizing Microfocus integration has been implemented in BigQuery for the leading telecom provider. This involves a Zero Trust architecture, encryption/decryption via Microfocus User-Defined Functions (UDFs) and Cloud Functions, and policy rule enforcement. A Data Protection Framework Code Generator automates secure schema creation, encrypted data inserts, and authorized access views.
GCP Functionality: This solution heavily utilizes BigQuery for data warehousing, Cloud Functions for dynamic data handling, and GCP’s IAM (Identity and Access Management) for access control.
Benefits for our client: Enhanced data security through encryption at rest and controlled decryption, reduced risk of unauthorized access, and automated security enforcement, streamlining data governance processes.
